Simple and sort of obvious, but nobody thought of it before. Genius!
Thanks! It is super simple but works so well!
These videos are great. Getting mine delivered soon. Thanks.
Glad you like them!
So, obviously, this insert doesn't mess up the set in the teeth, like the bandsaw guides themselves would, if you didn't set the blade correctly between them. But, if you used a very narrow blade, that cuts away a small part of the insert parts, wouldn't that then leave a small gap, when going back to the wider blade?
Yes that’s right! When switching blades it is best to dedicate one of the 4 sides of the insert to each blade size. Extra inserts are also available!
how the link belt does as a clutch or is it only use for non slipping application
When do you expect the BladeLock Guides to start shipping?
Late this week or early next week 🙂
can I get this in the UK
We can certainly ship! Send us an email with your address and we can get you a quote - info@stockroomsupply.com
My older Italian made Laguna LT 18 has ceramic blade guides far superior to roller bearings as they keep the blade and bearings free of pitch build up and eliminate the annoying roller bearing guide noise not to mention fight blade twisting so I can see how this "Blade Lock Guide" is ingenious, well done!
Ceramic guides are great! Just need to be careful with setup as they can strip bandsaw teeth if setup incorrectly. Thanks very much! Glad you like it 🙂
There should be an adjustment forward and back because it looks like you are forward of the gullets on smaller blades and in one of your other videos you told us that this would dull the blade or take out the right-left- angling of the cutting edge. Otherwise I think you have a great idea here.
That’s the beauty of the phenolic/graphite lock blocks. The teeth can cut into them without any risk of teeth damage. Because of this there is no need for a forward and back adjustment 🙂
Ethan. This is awesome. Well done. Is a Laguna version coming?
Thanks! And very soon! They will be available around the end of the month
This is one of those items where I'd like to try before I buy.
I have Harvey bandsaw do you have this?
Not yet! But they will be available by the end of the month or so
How much is the price of the replacement guide blocks and how do I order?
We have them listed here now - stockroomsupply.com/products/bladelock-bandsaw-guide-insert?_pos=3&_sid=ed4bc1201&_ss=r
Ethan great job.
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching
Finally, a solution to a common problem…..thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Can't joint a board wider than 8"? Ever hear of a hand plane?
Will it work with a tilting table?
You will need remove the BladeLock when tilting the table, so no it will not.
You guys are always thinking. Love it.
Thanks so much!
Do you have one that will fit a Craftsman model 113.243411 with a 3 3/8" diameter opening?
At this point we don't. But you could make an adapter ring if you had a lathe. Thanks for watching!
The most IMPORTANT thing to correct drift on a bandsaw is to make sure the blade is on the tires correctly. If you get the teeth lined up properly, 99.9999% of your drift issues will go away.
That hasn't been my experience. This video shows how little difference the blade alignment on the wheel makes - ruclips.net/video/4k-r5utmU2Q/видео.htmlsi=TvWy6wrTFP6a5lrh&t=379 Thanks for watching!
Neet!
Thought the Little Ripper was designed to slab " logs", how do you set it up to rip boards especially when aligning them?
Originally we designed the Little Ripper to cut logs but then realized most customers are using it to resaw! Here’s a video showing how to set it up to do just that - ruclips.net/video/VeuALqx1uAA/видео.htmlsi=hATcrZUtZQ8OQ6SV Thanks for watching!
@@StockroomSupply Ethan, thank you. Actually bought one a couple of years ago but life got in the way to use it between selling, moving, new shop and total knee replacement on one with the other in the works at least my mind is into woodworking/woodturning.
If I am venting the cam vac to outside, is upgraded filter necessary?
The upgraded filter will give you better overall airflow(about 15% increase) but if you are ducting it outside the better filtration doesn’t matter. Choice is yours!
how much and give it to me
$45 ... $40 too much for a piece of plastic
Here’s a link to them on our website - stockroomsupply.com/products/bladelock-bandsaw-guide-insert?_pos=1&_sid=dcdf25572&_ss=r
The body is made from a carbon fibre polyester blend with phenolic/canvas/graphite guides with all stainless steel hardware. A piece of plastic may be an oversimplification 🙂
I just ordered a set for my Rikon 14”. Question please- if I understand correctly, the first time you use it you are creating the opening based on your blade running ‘through’ it. So does it not work as well when you switch back and forth between blades as it’s set to the first one used? Thanks.
That’s right! Though you can rotate the lock blocks 4 different ways to have it set for different size blades
@@StockroomSupplyokay that’s great to know. Sorry if you stated and I missed that. Can I order extra inserts to accommodate different blades or perhaps not necessary if it’s the same size blade even if a different brand?
You definitely can! We haven’t got them listed on the website yet…just respond to your order confirmation you’d like extra lock blocks and how many. Thanks!
@@StockroomSupply thank you
this might be a nice upgrade for my 1915 crescent 20, it never had a lower guide
It might be! Feel free to send a little info on the insert size and we may be able to get one that fits. Info@stockroomsupply.com
@@StockroomSupply there is a round hole with a shoulder. even if i had to turn an "adaptor" from a hardwood piece
@@StockroomSupply the hole is 3" and it's 5/16 to the top of the shoulder from the table surface
great invention: My only question is what about the tooth-set? Will I need to file out the blocks so they don’t zero out the tooth-set? -Looking forward to ordering & implementing this new invention.
Thanks very much! The lock block material is phenolic impregnated with graphite. It is tough, wear resistant, self lubricating and can be machined with standard wood cutting tools. You can cut into the guides with no ill effect on your bandsaw blade. Thanks again!
I was just going to ask that too!
great idea.. hope you have one that fits my Jet JWBS-18
demmit.. looks like you dont. any plans on coming up with one that will work on that saw? Id be happy to be your guinnea pig test guy :)
so I just measured the insert on the Jet JWBS-18 its 2.5" wonder if that delta clone would work or not? The Jet inserts do have tiny little half moon cuts outs for locking them in place 90 degrees on either side of the blade. Easy enough to drill out. What do you think @EthhanMoore @StockroomSupply Will it work?
Very likely! Send me a quick picture and I can verify 100% Info@stockroomsupply.com
@@StockroomSupply just emailed you
This guy really gets the bandsaw. Brilliant.
Thanks very much! I know a little bit 🙂
nice work
Thanks so much!
This does look like a great product. Do they fit all bandsaw?
Thanks and we are working on it! So far we have them to fit nearly all round insert saws…what type of bandsaw do you have?
@@StockroomSupply Harvey Ambassador 14”
Challenge for you. Sears model # 103.0103. Insert is about 1.24" or 1.25" diameter.
Bad news…the insert size is too small to accommodate the BladeLock insert. The lock blocks are 3/4” square alone. Thanks for watching!
Do you have one that will fit a Crftsman model 113.243411 with a 3 3/8" diameter opening?
All models are already sold out??
@@ljgault just fixed! Sorry bout that
Any of those fit the Porter Cable band saw.
Is it a 14” porter cable with a 2.5” round insert? If so yes!
Will they fit a ShopSmith bandsaw?
At this point no…but definitely on the radar! If you could send us some measurements and pictures of the Shop Smith insert and we can see if it’s feasible. Info@stockroomsupply.com Thanks for watching!
@@StockroomSupply wil do! I really like your notion and product!
Sounds like an excellent product that also can make resawing more precise. I just went to order it for my Delta, it's Sold Out. I emailed to ask to be notified when it is available again, or to be allowed to preorder for your next stock. Thanks.
@@RYwoodview just fixed, sorry about that! And thanks very much
@@StockroomSupply Great. Just ordered. Thanks.
Do you sell replacement guide blocks
Yes the lock blocks are available for purchase separately
Will the material that guides the blade dull the blade?
Nope! They can be cut with the blade teeth with no risk of blade damage
Can people in United States order?

@@StockroomSupply excellent. Thanks
Is there a way to do this with the 10-3061?? Blades are always a little long on my machine. Thanks!
Unfortunately not that I am aware of. Might be worth sending an email to Rikon’s tech team though!

I'm in north east Kansas. I did not know Ridge Sharpening is located in Kansas. I have Forrest blades and Freud blades. Do you think Ridge would be able to sharpen my Forrest blades equal to Forrest's sharpening? Ridge is much closer to me, and they charge less than Forrest. I'm glad I clicked on your video, thank you!
If you asked Forrest they would say “absolutely not!” but if you asked Ridge Carbide they’d “absolutely can!” Lol. I would say Ridge would do a great job on your Forrest blade. I hope this helps!
Thank you very much for the great explanation. I really wish I could have you come help me setup my band saw. It is the one tool in my shop I am having issues with. I can't seem to keep the blade on the saw (pops off). I decided to buy a new blade and I have yet to install it because the machine makes me so mad. I am in full Holiday build mode right now for upcoming craft shows and I would love to use my bandsaw. With your video I will try and see if I can do it again. Thanks again!
Thanks so much!! You may find this setup video helpful - ruclips.net/video/xkHchvzInHc/видео.htmlsi=boUjG-2HpwHthMzh Thanks for watching!
@@StockroomSupply Thank you, I will check that out for sure.
He needs to admit in the video that Lil Ripper is his product he sells. So don’t assume this is an unbiased review of lil ripper. Its one of his COMMERCIALs advertising lil ripper.
We certainly are the designers, makers and sellers the Little Ripper Sawmill! Here's a link to where to find them on our site - stockroomsupply.com/collections/little-ripper-mini-sawmill-1
You can accomplish the same without the little ripper. Just make a fence that ends just after the blade. The wood can bend any way it wants and there is no fence after the cut for it to press against. Save your money. P.s. if you’re still thinking about a LIl ripper, also consider your band saw’s table - it’s too small and once you try anything bigger than a small, short light log, it just gets in the way and doesn’t work. (Notice all demo utubes are only with small logs).
As far as fence setups go on a bandsaw that is quite good! There are still a number of issues I chat more about in this video - ruclips.net/video/sY7xKKUGBgE/видео.htmlsi=gaQCLHDWdcLxnil2 Also if you are interested here's a video of the Little Ripper cutting an 8' long red oak beam - ruclips.net/video/YmGhMCgS7SU/видео.htmlsi=Ga3Ht0XwRcJejMqX Thanks for watching!
You DO need to care what ppl in your profession/business think about you if u want to succeed without harming your prospects. It’s all about balance in life.
I would plan on using this with a Y-Splitter for my Dewalt planer and a Delta 12" disc sander. Let me know if you think these units perform well with finer dust from the disc sander? It gets used quite a bit.
The Camvac perform exceptionally well on the fine sawdust especially compared to a traditional single stage bag unit. A 2 motor Camvac would be a great fit for those two tools
Are you shipping to US?
Yes we do! Just send us your zip code to info@stockroomsupply.com and we can give you a shipping quote.
I’m doing the exact same thing he does in this video and my 3$&/2%&#!,)!$#@ ing blade is binding ! He doesn’t explain how NOT to allow the binding without a fence.
Bandsaws are incredibly frustrating! I’ve certainly swore at mine a few times lol. Start with a fresh blade, only use that blade with a carriage and the drift issue goes away. I hope that makes sense!
